Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 24, 2026

didacu ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website didacu.com and associated mobile applications (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely hashed).

Course data: Topics you request, courses generated, quiz responses, and learning progress.

Uploaded files: Documents and images you upload for course generation (PDFs, images).

Payment information: When you purchase credits, payment processing is handled by our third-party payment provider (Polar). We do not store your credit card details.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, device type, browser type, and IP address for analytics and service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Generate personalized courses and learning content using AI
  • Track your learning progress across courses
  • Process payments and manage your credit balance
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
  • Monitor for abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

3. AI Processing

Course content is generated using third-party AI providers (via OpenRouter). When you request a course, your topic description and any uploaded materials are sent to these providers for processing. We do not send your personal account information (name, email) to AI providers — only the content needed to generate your course.

These third-party AI providers state in their terms of service that they do not use API inputs and outputs to train their models. However, we cannot independently verify or guarantee these claims, and their data handling practices are ultimately beyond our control. By using didacu, you acknowledge this risk and accept that course-related data sent to these providers is subject to their own privacy policies and practices.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Convex: Our database and backend infrastructure provider
  • AI providers (via OpenRouter): For course content generation
  • Polar: For payment processing
  • Exa: For web search and image sourcing during course generation

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and service.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and course content for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Uploaded files used for course generation are retained only as long as needed for processing.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure cloud infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Course data is not encrypted at rest. Your course content, prompts, and generated materials are stored in our database without end-to-end encryption. This means the didacu team may access your course data for purposes such as service operation, maintenance, support, abuse prevention, and product improvement. Avoid including sensitive, confidential, or personal information in your course content beyond what is needed for course generation.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

didacu is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Object to certain processing activities

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised date.
